I was so excited to see beautiful bright sun out this morning, not only because it’s been a bit gray here for the last week, but also because I had new projects that needed to be photographed!  One project, a pair of socks, needed to be modeled on the hoof to open up the lace pattern nicely, so I fetched my husband to be photographer on those while I played hosiery model.

We have* lovely rustic benches and chairs made of rough-hewn branches on our front porch.  I use them often as photo props.  So I went to sit on a bench to put on the socks, and CRASH!  I fell straight through the bench.  Winter weather had not been kind to the furniture, and the branches has gotten brittle, nails had loosened.  Luckily I just got away with a few scrapes and scratches (and the camera I was holding in one hand did not got dropped, whew!).  I did get stuck though, in a ridiculously comedic way, and my husband helped haul me back to my feet once he popped his head out of the front door.

The Carnage.

The photo session continued, and we decided that none of the furniture is really safe anymore.  We haven’t found a purpose for all of it, but the above bench did find new life as a trellis for the clematis vine.  And we’ll be shopping for new porch furniture this week!

Perfect!

So that’s my resurrection story for Easter morning.  Have a lovely holiday!
