So much better than a souvenir t-shirt….
I’m hopping on a plane bound for sunny Aruba for a real live vacation!* And I would love to bring back seashells and carved coconuts for everyone, but my suitcase is only so big, right?
So to share some fun while I’m away, I’m stocking up the KSD shop full of cheap, lovely yarn for you!
What’s on SALE?
I am overstocked on some beautiful yarns that are lonely one-skeiners, Odd Ducks (one-of-a-kind microbatches), discontinued colors and fibers, and a few random things just for the heck of it. I’m cleaning out these little gems by marking them down to make room for new items coming this fall, and to build up the KSD travel fund for upcoming shows. (note- I just found a hidden, unmarked box of amazing odd duck merino fine skeins, so y’all totally scored on that!)
Stock up while they last!
All orders will ship when I return to the studio, Friday and Saturday next week.
Cheers and I’ll see you when I get back (probably slightly sunburnt)!
Mercedes
*I will be incommunicado (no internet! no email! no phone! yikes!) for about a week. If there are any snags on your order, I will clean it up and make it all better once I’m back in Alabama.

The shop is freshly stocked with Merino Bamboo Worsted, regular price $21.95, now on sale for $15.00 per skein! Super soft, with an interesting crepe-like texture, this yarn makes wonderful accessories. And one skein goes a looong way!

I’m finally settled back in from our trip to Renegade Craft fair in Chicago this past weekend, and it was so much fun! Kristin Rengren, of Retro Knit, the author of Vintage Baby Knits, helped me in the booth on Saturday and my lovely friend Amanda pitched in on Sunday, and it was so much fun to talk to all the Chicago area knitters and crocheters who stopped by.
The weather was sunny and beautiful! I even came home with a tan!

On the drive up, Chris and I fit in some photography:

And of course some beer!
I snuck away from the booth to do a bit of shopping and came away with some lovely, delicate porcelain earrings from Red Raven Studios.

And a “librarian squid” from Cleo Dee, who stitches up squids for every occasion:

I picked up some sweet block printed tea towels as gifts from Artgoodies:

The shear numbers of amazing, talented artists and crafters at Renegade was mind-blowing! If you ever get a chance to go to a Renegade event near you, I highly recommend it, although your wallet may be a little sore afterwards.

Our Luxe Merino Fine was as popular as ever, and many, many skeins found happy new homes in the Midwest. I just listed stock of Luxe in the etsy shop, which is dyed up and ready for immediate shipment.
I just posted a shop update on etsy today, full of lovely spinning fiber! There’s a bunch of BFL wool and Merino/bamboo rovings. Now I wish I had more time to spin some up myself! But I’ll be content knowing they’ll be shipped off to happy new homes soon.
